Tunisia security forces kill two extremists in operation

Two armed extremists were killed Wednesday in a security operation led by Tunisian counter-terrorism forces, the Interior Ministry source said.

In an official statement, the ministry said that the security operation consisting of surrounding houses where armed extremists are suspected of hiding is ongoing.

No official reports regarding numbers or identities of the suspects have been issued yet.

However, local private radio Shems FM, reported that two extremists were killed by security agents.

Counter-terrorism units were informed by the Tunisian National Guard intelligence about suspicious movements of the extremists and successfully located them.

However, some suspects managed to escape, according to Xinhua sources. Endit
