2nd LD,Writethru: Five killed in village shooting in Russia's Moscow region

Xinhua, May 8, 2016 Adjust font size:

Five people were killed on Sunday morning in a shooting resulting from a dispute among local residents in the east of Russia's Moscow region, and the attacker has made a confession, Russian media reported.

At about 6:00 local time (0300 GMT) near a abandoned brewery in the village of Chelnokhovo, a dispute broke out between a local resident and a group of bikers who gathered to participate in a motorcycle racing to celebrate the upcoming Victory Day, the TASS news agency said.

The resident, aged 27, then pulled out a carbine and fired several shots at the bikers. Five of them died at the scene.

The suspect was detained several hours later by the regional department of Russia's Investigative Committee, which said he has made a full confession.

There is still no information from local authorities about how the wrangle started. Endi
