Xinhua, May 8, 2016 Adjust font size:

Afghan government on Sunday executed six terrorists who had been awarded capital punishment by court on charge of involvement in subversive activities, an official with Presidential Palace said.

"The government implemented court's ruling on six terrorists and executed them today," the official told Xinhua but declined to be identified, saying the Arg or Presidential Palace would release statement on the subject later on the day.

However, the official confirmed that Anas Haqqani, the son of Jalaludin Haqqani, the founder of Haqqani network wasn't among those executed on Sunday.

President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani in his address at the joint session of parliament on April 25 vowed to execute terrorists and root out militants in the country. Endit
