Kenyan men runners triumph at Yellow River Estuary Marathon

Kenyan male runners made a clean sweep of the podium finish in the ninth edition of the Yellow River Estuary International Marathon, which brought together 31,635 competitors to Dongying, Shandong province on Sunday.

Dickson Kipsang Tuwei grabbed the top honor in the men's field in two hours nine minutes and 27 seconds ahead of his fellow Kenyan Marius Kimutai, who finished second in 2:09:32. Moses Cheruiyot Mosop won the bronze with a time of 2:09:33.

With the thermometer reading around 20 degrees Celsius at times during the race, all the top six runners in the men's category broke the course record of 2:11:43, set by Kenyan Isaac Macharia in 2010.

The women's gold went to Eunice Chebichii Chumba of Bahrain in 2:31:13. The runner-up was Kenyan Mirriam Wangari Karienye (2:31:22). Ethiopian Ehite Bizuayehu Gebireyes took the third place in 2:32:02. Endit
