Senior Chinese legislator visits Botswana to promote cooperation

Senior Chinese legislator Qiangba Puncog met here Thursday with Botswana's National Assembly Speaker Gladys Kokorwe and House of Chiefs Chairman Puso Gaborone, respectively, to discuss cooperation between China and Botswana.

Qiangba, vice chairman of the Standing Committee of China's National People's Congress (NPC), was on a visit to the African country at the invitation of Kokorwe.

During the talks, the two sides agreed that the two countries have a profound traditional friendship and fruitful bilateral cooperation in various fields.p They also agreed to work together to implement what leaders of the two countries agreed upon at the summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) held in Johannesburg in December.

The two sides pledged to further strengthen political mutual trust and deepen practical cooperation in various fields, including cooperation between the legislatures of the two countries. Endi
