Colombia's large delegation to participate at IAAF World Race Walking Cup in Italy

A large Colombian delegation travelled to Rome, Italy to participate at IAAF (International Association of Athletics Federations) World Race Walking Cup where some 400 athletes from 60 countries will compete this weekend, local media reported on Thursday.

According to Colombian daily HSB Noticias, the Colombian delegation includes 18 athletes. Some of the main athletes are Luis Fernando Lopez, Eider Arevalo, Lorena Arenas and Kenny Perez.

Several competitions are included at the IAAF World Race Walking Cup, including 10, 20 and 50 km races for men and women.

The Colombian team for the 20 km race includes Arevalo, Ivan Garrido, Leonardo Montana and Kenny Perez, youth medal winner. All have won tickets for Rio de Janeiro 2016.

In the 50 km race, the Colombians to participate are Lopez, who has a record of 3:55:43 hours, as well as James Aurelio Rendon, Omar Daniel Sierra and Freddy Hernando Hernandez.

In the women's 20 km race, the Colombian team includes Arenas, Sandra Galvis and Yeseida Carrillo. The three have tickets for the Summer Olympics. Endit
