British FTSE 100 rises 0.09 pct on Thursday

FTSE 100 Index, British benchmark stock market gauge, Thursday rose by 0.09 percent, or 5.23 points, to 6,117.25 points.

Share price of BT Group increased by 2.64 percent, topping the gainers of the blue chips. Pearson, Next, Morrison Supermarkets and RSA Insurance Group increased by 2.29 percent, 2.23 percent, 2.19 percent and 2.02 percent respectively.

Centrica led the top losers of the blue chips with a share price drop of 10.00 percent, followed by Inmarsat (7.10 percent), Sage Group (3.39 percent), Smith & Nephew (2.92 percent) and Royal Bank of Scotland Group (2.92 percent). Endit
