RIO DE JANEIRO -- A senator picked as an investigator by the Brazilian Senate's special impeachment commission recommended Wednesday that President Dilma Rousseff be put on trial for possible impeachment once "all the legal requisites" are met.

DAMASCUS -- The Islamic State (IS) militant group captured parts of a key gas field in the central province of Homs on Wednesday, amid ongoing fight with the Syrian army, pan-Arab al-Mayadeen TV reported.

BRUSSELS -- The European Union (EU) and Japan sought to conclude their free trade deal in 2016, which has missed the deadline of last year due to lack of breakthrough in tariff liberalization, a EU statement said Wednesday.
