Germany's benchmark DAX index loses nearly 100 points

The benchmark DAX index at Frankfurt Stock Exchange on Wednesday lost nearly 100 points and closed at 9,828.25 points.

The quarterly financial results of big companies among DAX shares were mixed and the blue-chip index went down by 98.52 points, or 0.99 percent.

Deutsche Boerse added 5.82 percent. Siemens soared by 1.39 percent. HeidelbergCement rose by 1.37 percent.

All the other 27 DAX member shares dropped with the utilities company RWE taking the lead. It plunged by 3.66 percent. Linde, an industrial gas company, lost 3.4 percent. EON, another utilities company, fell by 2.97 percent. Fresenius, a medical care company, slipped by 2.64 percent. Deutsche Lufthansa went down by 2.53 percent.

Allianz was the most traded share of the day with a turnover of 412.94 million euros (476.59 million U.S. dollars). Endit
