Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and his U.S. counterpart John Kerry on Monday urged the conflicting parties in Syria to strictly abide by the cease-fire regime.

In a phone conversation, the two sides stressed the need to ensure Syria's cessation of hostilities with the exception of the fight against terrorist groups in the war-torn country, the Russian Foreign Ministry said in an online statement. (Russia-U.S.-Truce in Syria)

NAIROBI -- Death toll from a residential building which collapsed in Kenya's capital, Nairobi last Friday has risen to 22 after two more bodies were retrieved on Monday.

Kenya National Disaster Operation Centre director Colonel Nathan Kigotho said 135 people have so far been rescued from the six-story building, which collapsed due to heavy rains which pounded Nairobi on Friday evening. (Kenya-Building collapse)

NEW YORK -- Oil prices dropped Monday as the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) increased output in April.

OPEC raised crude production by 484,000 barrels per day to 33.217 million per day in April, according to a survey of oil companies by Bloomberg. Iran and Iraq, two important OPEC members, expanded crude output in April. (U.S.-Crude Price)

AMMAN -- Jordan's Prime Minister Abdullah Ensour on Monday reiterated call for increased aid to deal with the influx of Syrian refugees, the state-run Petra news agency reported.

At a meeting with a U.S. official delegation, the premier said Jordan is home to 1.3 million Syrian refugees that place pressure on several sectors including eduction, health, energy, among others. (Jordan-Refugees) Endi
