GENEVA -- U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry on Monday urged all parties to the Syrian conflict to end violence and restore the cessation of hostilities during his second day trip here for talks focusing on the Syrian situation.

BAGHDAD -- Sixteen Shiite pilgrims were killed and 43 others wounded on Monday in a suicide car bomb explosion in the southern Iraqi capital of Baghdad, a police source told Xinhua.

YANGON -- A flash flood, triggered by week-long torrential rain in Myanmar's northernmost Kachin state, has left 545 people homeless, official report said on Monday.
