Barca keeper Bravo suffers calf injury, Stegen to get chance

Xinhua, May 1, 2016 Adjust font size:

FC Barcelona are likely to be without goalkeeper Claudio Bravo for the last two games of the season after confirming that the Chilean suffered a calf injury during his side's 2-0 win away to Betis on Saturday night.

Bravo had to leave the pitch in the closing minutes of the game to be replaced by Ter Stegen and was seen in the dugout holding his calf muscle on his right leg.

Tests on Sunday morning confirm "the goalkeeper has an injury in his soleus muscle," reported the official Barca website, adding, "the evolution of the injury will mark his availability for the next games."

However, with Barca's next game held on May 8 and the season due to end on the 14th of the month, it is unlikely he will have time to recover and Stegen, who played for Barca in Champions League and in the King's Cup, will almost certainly play for the last two matches of the campaign in which two wins will ensure Barca are league champions.
