Unidentified gunmen on Thursday night attacked a bar at Musaga in the south of the Burundian capital Bujumbura, killing five persons and injuring three others, police sources told Xinhua on Friday.

NAIROBI -- Several people are feared dead and others injured after a six-storey residential building in Huruma on the east of Nairobi, Kenya,collapsed on Friday evening following heavy rains.

There has been a heavy downpour in Nairobi in the past two days.

WASHINGTON -- The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) on Friday announced the country's first Zika-related death in the U.S. territory of Puerto Rico.

Puerto Rico's Health Secretary Ana Rius said that the victim is a 70-year-old man who died in late February. On Tuesday, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services announced 5 million U.S. dollars in funding to 20 health clinics in Puerto Rico to combat the Zika virus.(Puerto Rico-Zika)

RAMADI, Iraq -- Iraqi security forces on Friday took two villages from the extremist group Islamic State (IS) in Iraq's western province of Anbar, killing 27 IS militants including six suicide bombers, a provincial security source said.

Iraqi security forces and allied paramilitary units have been battling IS militants for re-control of the areas in northern and western Iraq that has been seized by the IS since June 2014. (Iraq-IS)

RIYADH -- The Saudi Interior Ministry said on Friday that the police have foiled a terrorist attack in the Asir region in the southwest of the country and killed the two attackers.
