Chinese state councilor meets Kazakh foreign minister

State Councilor Yang Jiechi met with Kazakh Foreign Minister Yerlan Idrisov on Friday, pledging to strengthen cooperation in industry, energy and security.

Hailing bilateral relations, Yang called on both sides to implement consensus reached by their heads of state, support each other and coordinate their development strategies.

"Both countries should prioritize cooperation in industrial production capacity, energy and security and enhance coordination within the UN, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia," Yang said.

Idrisov said Kazakhstan attaches great importance to China's role in the world and Kazakhstan-China relationship, expressing willingness to promote cooperation on bilateral and international levels. Endi
