Guinea president calls for respect of state authority

Xinhua, April 29, 2016 Adjust font size:

Guinea President Alpha Conde has asked government officials to "take all necessary measures to restore state authority at all levels," Government Spokesman Albert Damantang Camara said Thursday.

Speaking during an ordinary cabinet meeting in Conakry, Conde is reported to have urged ministers to put in place a follow-up mechanism to monitor execution of large scale state projects.

"In this regard, the performance of ministers will be evaluated and they will in turn evaluate the performance of their subordinates," Camara said.

He said the operation will particularly target the ministries of health, education, customs and security.

The president also gave directives regarding better collaboration between ministries in the conduct of their responsibilities, the spokesman said. Enditem
