10 militants killed, 10 detained in N. Afghanistan

A total of 10 militants were killed and 10 others made captive as units of Special Forces raided Taliban hideouts in Chardara district of the northern Kunduz province Tuesday night, an army spokesman in the province, Ghulam Hazrat Karimi said Wednesday.

According to the official, security forces during the operation, which was conducted in Hazarata and Ghondi villages of Chardara district late Tuesday night, besides killing 10 armed militants and capturing 10 others, also discovered huge quantity of arms and ammunitions.

There were no casualties on security personnel, the official said.

Taliban militants who are active in parts of Kunduz province, have yet to make comment. Endit
