Wolfsburg and Nicklas Bendtner part ways

Xinhua, April 26, 2016 Adjust font size:

Wolfsburg has terminated the contract with striker Nicklas Bendtner with immediate effect, the "Wolves" announced in an official statement via the club's official homepage on Monday.

The Bundesliga club said both sides were not satisfied with each other.

"We have promised us very much with the signing of Nicklas. However, after almost two years we came to the conclusion that neither our, nor his expectations were satisfied. We therefore mutually agreed to terminate the cooperation now, which is the best solution for all," Wolfsburg sporting director Klaus Allofs said.

The Dane joined Wolfsburg on a free transfer in the summer 2014 to score nine goals in overall 47 appearances and still had one year on his contract.

Wolfsburg sit currently on a disappointing 10th place in the standings. Dieter Hecking's men clash with Dortmund at the 32nd round on Saturday. Endit
