A soldier in western Uganda has shot seven people dead and injured two others after a quarrel at Kaburamizi army barracks in Kanungu district.
A police spokesman said that the deadly incident occurred on Thursday night after Corporal Moses Kyatoko shot dead two soldiers. He later ran out of the barracks to the Nkumbagara trading center where he shot dead five people and injured two others.

NEW DELHI -- At least 12 people including five children and three women were charred to death and six others suffered burn injuries in a devastating fire inside a thatched house on Friday in the eastern Indian state of Bihar, officials said.
The fire broke out at the village of Harinagar in Aurangabad district, about 143 km southwest of Patna, capital of Bihar. (India-Fire)

DAMASCUS -- The Islamic State (IS) militant group claimed on Friday it has captured the pilot after a warplane crashed southeast of Damascus, the SITE Intelligence Group quoted the group's Amaq news agency as saying.

WASHINGTON -- A shooter was at large on Friday after shooting incidents left at least seven people dead at three spots in southern Ohio, local media said.
