190 athletes to participate in IAAF Diamond League in Rabat

A total of 190 athletes representing 49 countries will participate in the 9th edition of the Meeting International Mohammed VI, 3rd stage of IAAF Diamond League, the head of the Local Organizing Committee Abdeslam Ahizoune announced on Friday.

The event will take place on May 22 at Prince Moulay Abdellah stadium in Rabat, he said.

Last March, the General Assembly of the Diamond League meeting decided to include Rabat as a new host city for the prestigious global series of one-day athletics meetings.

With the addition of Rabat, the series of 14 meetings which annual takes place from May to September now includes the African continent.

Launched in March 2009, the IAAF Diamond League features the world's best athletes competing across 32 individual track and field disciplines. Endit
