Xinhua, April 22, 2016 Adjust font size:

Three workers of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), kidnapped last Saturday in Northern Mali region of Kidal, were freed on Friday, Mali Red Cross has said.

On Thursday, Ansar Dine terrorist group that operates in the region claimed responsibility for their abduction. The three Red Cross workers are currently in the local ICRC offices.

At the moment, no other information has been given regarding the conditions for their release.

On Thursday, Nourredine Ag Mohamed, an Ansar Dine official, said his group had captured the three Red Cross workers but it could release them if their member, Miyatene Ag Mayaris, who was arrested by French troops in the area, could be set free.

By Friday, it was not clear whether Ansar Dine had achieved its demands. Enditem
