South African President Jacob Zuma arrived in Swaziland on Thursday for consultations with King Mswati III on issues of the Southern African Customs Union (SACU).
Zuma has had talks with leaders of Botswana and Namibia on the SACU issues, the South African presidency said.
The consultations are a follow-up to a meeting of leaders of SACU member states in Windhoek, Namibia last November.
The 105-year-old SACU consists of five members -- Botswana, Lesotho, Namibia, South Africa and Swaziland. Zuma is the current chair of the SACU summit.
His talks with King Mswati III are expected to focus on the progress made in the implementation of the "SACU work program" adopted at the 2011 SACU summit.
The SACU member states maintain a common external tariff, share customs revenues, and coordinate policies and decision-making on a wide range of trade issues.
South Africa has accused its partners of hardly moving in the direction of harmonizing trade and industrial policies. Endit
