The Albanian Court of Serious Crimes has sentenced a Colombian citizen to 15 years in prison for drug smuggling, the Albanian Daily News reported on Thursday.

According to prosecutors on Wednesday, Cesar Triana came to Albania in 2014 to act as a middleman who would get the first payment for 246 kg of cocaine, an amount worth from 600,000 euros (677,580 U.S.dollars) to 1 million euros (1,129,300 dollars).

Triana, 37, was arrested at the Tirana International Airport when he was trying to leave Albania. The cocaine was sequestered in Montenegro after having arrived from Ecuador.

Albanian investigators confirmed that Triana was ordered by two Colombian citizens to come to Albania to get the money for the drugs, which would be sent to Albania in a container.

As a reward, Triana himself was supposed to get 200,000 euros (225,860 dollars). Endi
