Xinhua, April 21, 2016 Adjust font size:

Tokyo stocks climbed Thursday morning as investor sentiment was buoyed by a rebound in oil prices as a comparatively soft yen against the U.S. dollar also underpinned the market.

The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average added 329.83 points, or 1.95 percent, from Wednesday to 17,236.37.

The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, meanwhile, gained 20.25 points, or 1.48 percent, to 1,386.03.

All industry categories on the main section advanced, with notable gainers by the morning break comprising mining, real estate and nonferrous metals-linked stocks. Endit
