Spanish stock market index rises 1.96 pct, closes at 9,147 points

The Spanish stock market index Ibex-35 rose 1.96 percent on Wednesday to close at 9,147.20 points, up from the 8,971.30 points of Tuesday.

On Wednesday session, BBVA shares led rises climbing 5.77 percent, followed by Mapfre, Mediaset, Banco Popular, Banco Santander and Caixabank that rose 4.98 percent, 4.81 percent, 4.15 percent, 3.60 percent and 2.83 percent respectively.

On the other hand, Gamesa shares led falls losing 2.60 percent, followed by Indra A, Tecnicas Reunidas, Acerinox, Ferrovial and R.E.C. that lost 1.49 percent, 1.04 percent, 0.77 percent, 0.76 percent and 0.09 percent respectively.

Meanwhile, Spain's risk premium closed at 138.50 points and Spain's 10-year bond interest rate closed at 1.5 percent, both showing no big differences when compared with Tuesday. Endit
