Bahrain military vows readiness to fight terror

Xinhua, April 18, 2016 Adjust font size:

The Bahrain Defense Force (BDF) said on Monday that it is ready to confront terrorist groups that attack security forces.

The BDF general command said in a statement that it is "fully aware of the acts of terrorism and criminal schemes against the stability and security of the Kingdom of Bahrain."

"They will all be brought to justice and the laws will be fully applied," the statement said.

"The BDF stands ready to respond to the terrorist groups who target security patrols and police officers carrying out their duty to maintain security," it added.

The BDF statement came after the killing on Saturday of a policeman in a petrol bomb attack, after terrorists torched a police patrol jeep.

Two others were also injured in the Molotov cocktail attack in Karbabad village.

Since 2011, 17 policemen have been killed, said Interior Minister Shaikh Rashid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, who vowed to bring everyone involved in these crimes to justice. Endit
