Chinese state councilor to attend UN drugs session

Chinese State Councilor Guo Shengkun will lead a Chinese delegation to a session of the UN General Assembly on the global drug problem, a Foreign Ministry spokesperson said on Monday.

The session, to be held at the UN headquarters in New York from April 19 to 21, will review progress and challenges in countering drugs, and make further plans, Lu Kang told a regular press briefing.

Guo is also head of China's national anti-drug commission and public security minister.

Several heads of state and more than 40 ministers from around the world are expected to attend the session, according to the UN. Endi
