Vietnam wins 13th Olympic slot

Pham Phuoc Hung has become the first Vietnamese gymnast to have secured a berth at the upcoming Rio Olympics, bringing the total number of tickets gained by Vietnam to 13 so far, the Vietnam Olympic Committee said Monday.

At an ongoing pre-Olympic gymnastics tournament in Brazil, Hung managed to reach the Olympic standard at the all-round event on April 17.

To date, Vietnam has grabbed 13 berths to the 2016 Olympics, including three in weightlifting, two in shooting, one in swimming, two in wrestling, one in race walking, three in fencing and one in gymnastics. Enditem
