The Spanish Interior Ministry has reported that two people related to Daesh (the Islamic State) have been arrested in the port town of Algeciras in the south of Spain.

The arrested are described as a couple, a Moroccan national and a Spaniard who lived in the city of Granada. They were travelling to Morocco with their young son, according to the ministry on Saturday.

The arrests came as the result of an investigation into people linked to Daesh activities, among whom there were the detained couple who had connections with those carrying out suicide attacks in Syria.

Security forces have also been searching the couples'home with the aim of reconstructing their links to Daesh and other possible contacts in Spain. Endit
