China to continue upgrading foreign trade in accordance with WTO rules

Xinhua, April 16, 2016 Adjust font size:

China will continue to transform and upgrade its foreign trade in accordance with World Trade Organization (WTO) rules, an official from the Ministry of Commerce (MOC) said.

The statement, published on the MOC website, was made by an official in charge of the MOC's department of treaty and law after China and the United States on Thursday signed an MOU in Geneva to resolve a case involving China's foreign trade transformation and upgrading demonstration bases and common service platforms.

China has always followed WTO rules, and its WTO accession commitment, said the official.

China will continue to promote the transformation and upgrading of foreign trade in accordance with WTO rules and achieve steady and healthy development in this regard, the official added.

Close consultations have resolved misunderstanding about China's demonstration bases and confirmed that the policy aims to encourage the transformation and upgrading of foreign trade, the official said. Endi
