Myanmar's State Counselor Aung San Suu Kyi undergoes second eye operation

Myanmar's Sate Counselor Aung San Suu Kyi underwent a second operation on her left eye on Saturday morning, according to State Counselor's office.

Aung San Suu Kyi, who is also minister of foreign affairs and minister of the President's office, underwent her right eye operation on April 9.

Both of her eye operations were carried out at the Eye, Ear and Thorax Hospital in Nay Pyi Taw.

After her first eye operation and before the second is to be done, Suu Kyi attended the office and served her duty on April 14, the third day of Myanmar Thingyan Water Festival.

A total of 199 political prisoners including students facing trial connected with politics were released on April 8 as the authorities move was made in response to the State Counselor's efforts. Enditem
