Iceland's fish catch down 31 pct in March

Iceland's fish catch decreased 31 percent year-on-year in March 2016, according to figures issued Friday by Statistics Iceland.
The total fish caught in March amounted to 131,705 tons, including 49,395 tones of demersal catch and 79,420 tons of pelagic catch, and some shellfish, figures showed.
The total volume in March this year decreased by 60,158 tons of fish compared with that of March last year.
The total fish caught in the period between April 2015 and March 2016 was 1,104,589 tons, a decrease of 17 percent compared with 1,326,547 tons of fish caught in the previous 12-month period. Enditem
