Cuban gets record for driving motorbike for 3km blindfolded

Xinhua, April 14, 2016 Adjust font size:

Cuban Aliet Perez drove a motorbike for three kilometers in Havana on Wednesday blindfolded, winning him a national record which he hopes to break in August in another attempt to enter the Guinness Book of World Records.

The young man, who works as a magician, said his summer attempt will be in Cuba's eastern province of Santiago to travel between eight and 10 kilometers for the Guinness record.

On Wednesday, Perez broke the national record set in 1986 by fellow magician Guillermo. Back then, the magician travelled two kilometers blindfolded on a motorbike in the eastern Cuban city of Las Tunas.

Aliet Perez said that over the course of a week he repeated the journey from the Prado and Malecon intersection to the Old Square several times "to get familiar with and memorize the way."

He added that he will soon begin to inspect and practice along the course he will take in summer. Endi
