As many as 100,000 new jobs should be created over the next four years, the unemployment rate in Slovakia is to be squeezed under 10 percent, stated the Government Manifesto approved at its session on Wednesday.
Slovak Labor, Social Affairs and the Family Minister Jan Richter said that a particular challenge exists in reducing unemployment among those who have been without jobs for a long term.
"We're drawing up a new law to deal with a new outline for the arrangement of social enterprises," stressed Richter.
The minister added that the state will also focus on other disadvantaged groups, including young people and those living in socially underdeveloped communities.
At the same time conditions for receiving social benefits will be stricter in order to deal with those who are obviously unwilling to work.
When it comes to adopting measures bolstering employment, the Slovak government wants to take into account employers' needs. According to the Manifesto, a growing lack of qualified workers in the country represents a serious risk for further growth of Slovak companies. Endit
