China's top political adviser Yu Zhengsheng met with Gabonese President Ali Bongo Ondimba to enhance ties here on Monday.
He expressed China's willingness to work with the Gabonese side to fully implement the consensus and the ten cooperative projects agreed between Chinese President Xi Jinping and Bongo during last year's Johannesburg summit.
Gabon is China's traditional friend and an important cooperative partner in Africa, with fruitful bilateral cooperation in all fields, said Yu, chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference.
He suggested the two sides relate China's development concepts of innovation, coordination, environmental friendliness, openness and sharing, which were marked out in the country's 13th Five-Year Plan, to Gabon's development goals of "Green Gabon, Industrial Gabon, Service Gabon," and deepen bilateral pragmatic cooperation, so as to bring more benefits to the two peoples.
Yu also encouraged the two countries to strengthen coordination and cooperation on issues such as climate change and Africa's peace and security, and protect the common interests of developing nations.
For his part, Bongo expressed his gratitude to China for its important support of Gabon's economic development. Gabon is willing to learn from China's experience of development and reform, and continue to enhance bilateral cooperation in fields such as forestry, agriculture, infrastructure, energy resources, tourism, peace and security, the president said.
Yu is paying an official goodwill visit to Gabon, Cote d'Ivoire and Ghana from April 10 to 20, according to a press release from China's top political advisory body. Endi
