The following are highlights of South African major media outlets on Tuesday:

-- The World Bank is the latest body to flag SA's politics as a risk, saying a "political crisis", together with the severe drought and drop in commodity prices will drag down economic growth.

These three factors kept business confidence low and put pressure on the rand, the global lender said. (Business Day).

-- The Thabo Mbeki Foundation issued a statement on Monday denying any connections with the Gupta family as had been reported in the media on Sunday.

The foundation further said that no member of the Gupta family ever served in any economic advisory body while Mbeki was president.

However, the statement does confirm that Ajay Gupta did in fact serve on the International Marketing Council. (Mail & Guardian).
