Road accident claims 4 lives, wounds 40 in S. Afghanistan

Four people were perished and 40 others sustained injuries as a passenger bus veered off the road in the southern Helmand province on Monday, head of provincial transport department, Abdul Ghafoor Tokhi said.

"A passenger bus was on way from Uruzgan to Kandahar province when suddenly changed direction and turned turtle on the road in Washir district killing four travelers on the spot and injured 40 others," Tokhi told Xinhua.

Some women and children are also among those sustained injuries in the accident took place at 09:00 a.m. local time, the official added.

The official also blamed reckless driving for the bloody accident, saying carelessness of the drivers on the congested roads often causes deadly road accidents. Enditem
