Ex-Brazil striker Fred could leave Fluminense - reports

Xinhua, April 11, 2016 Adjust font size:

Former Brazil international striker Fred could leave Rio de Janeiro outfit Fluminense due to a row with coach Levir Culpi, according to media reports.

Fred is understood to be unhappy at being regularly substituted and has told club officials that he will no play under Culpi, according to Globoesporte.

A meeting between Fred's representatives and Fluminense's hierarchy on Saturday failed to resolve the dispute, the report said.

Fred has scored 89 goals in 147 appearances for Fluminense since his 2009 move from Lyon. But the 32-year-old has failed to hit the target in the past eight matches.

Culpi's case is strengthened by Fluminense's 10-game unbeaten run. Endit
