Tokyo shares end lower by break on firmer yen

Tokyo shares ended the morning session sharply lower on Monday on the yen's continuing advance that dragged down the export-oriented issues.

The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average lost 201.09 points, or 1.27 percent, from Friday to 15,620.43.

The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange was down 18.21 points, or 1.41 percent, to 1,269.48. Enditem
