Spain's industrial production increases by 5.9 pct in February

Spain's industrial production rose by 5.9 percent in February year-on-year, according to figures published on Thursday by Spain's Statistical Office (INE).

The INE reported that production of consumer goods rose by 7.3 percent in February on a year-on-year basis, with production of durable consumer goods rising by 2.9 percent and that of non-durable consumer goods increasing by 7.7 percent.

Production of capital goods rose by 7.7 percent, production of intermediate goods rose by 6.8 percent and energy fell by 3.7 percent, the INE said.

Spain's industrial production has been rising for four consecutive months on a year-on-year basis after rising by 6.1 percent in November, by 3.4 percent in December and by 0.7 percent in January. Endit
