Xinhua, April 7, 2016 Adjust font size:

Four people suspected of having enlisted the Islamic State (IS) in Syria were arrested, Danish police said on Thursday.

The arrests occurred earlier Thursday in the metropolitan area of Copenhagen and were a result of a joint action between the Danish Security and Intelligence Service (PET) and the Copenhagen Police, a police statement said.

Police said they seized weapons and ammunition in connection with the arrests.

The four will be presented for a preliminary hearing at the Court of Frederiksberg on Friday morning.

As of 12:30 p.m. local time, police said the raids are still under way. Endit
