Brazil's Palmeiras to face Argentina's Rosario Central in Copa Libertadores

Xinhua, April 6, 2016 Adjust font size:

Brazilia's Palmeiras left on Tuesday for Argentina to face Rosario Central on Wednesday in the group phase of the Copa Libertadores de America tournament.

The Brazilian club is in the third place in Group Two with four points after four matches behind group leaders Nacional of Uruguay with 8 and Rosario Central with 7.

The popular team from Sao Paulo could be kicked out of the Copa Libertadores 2016 if it loses.

The Brazilian team were in good spirits when they left their country due to their recent win over archrivals Corinthians a regional championship match.

Palmeiras' coach, Alexi Stival, will not be able to include last week's goalscorer, Eduardo Pereira, in Wednesday's team due to a recurring muscular injury in his right leg.

Marcos Arouca and Jonathan Cristaldo are other injured players that will not play at the Gigante de Arroyito Stadium in the Argentinian city of Rosario. Endit
