Zambia, Lesotho seal education exchange deal

Zambia and Lesotho on Tuesday signed a memorandum of understanding aimed at promoting cooperation in the education sector between the two countries.

The memorandum of understanding was signed by Zambia's Higher Education Minister Michael Kaingu and visiting Lesotho Minister of Higher Education Mahali Pamotse at the Copperbelt University School of Medicine in Ndola city in the Copperbelt Province, according to state broadcaster, the Zambia National Broadcasting Corporation.

Under the agreement, Lesotho will bring 31 students to study medicine at the Zambian university while some Zambian students will also go to Lesotho for training in various fields.

Dean of Students at the Copperbelt University Professor Kasonde Bowa said the agreement is focusing on education in the field of medicine as a priority but added that both countries have agreed to extend the agreement to other fields. Endit
