India should continue pace of reform, says Finance Minister

Xinhua, April 4, 2016 Adjust font size:

India should continue its pace of reforms since it has lost many opportunities in the past to lead global economy, the country's Finance Minister Arun Jaitley said Monday.

"India has missed many chances in past to be the leading global economy, so its important for the country to continue its pace of reforms," the minister said at a function in the national capital.

He reiterated that amidst the global slowdown, India is moving and "we are moving fast."

"If India aspires to be a global leader as far as the economy is concerned, the government has primary responsibility in terms of policy and public opinions," the minister added. Endit
