Xinhua, April 3, 2016 Adjust font size:

Afghan security forces killed seven militants, injured 13 others in the northern region and captured a would-be suicide bomber in capital Kabul on Sunday.

Taliban militants raided police checkpoints in Darzab district of northern Jauzjan province early on Sunday and police returned fire triggering the gun battle that has left two insurgents dead.

Abdul Hafiz Khashi, deputy to the provincial police chief, while speaking with Xinhua, declined to comment on possible police casualties.

Afghan National Directorate for Security (NDS), the country's intelligence agency, said it arrested a would-be suicide bomber in Kabul on Sunday.

According to a statement of the NDS, Baharullah, 17, who was arrested from the 5th precinct of Kabul city, has admitted his affiliation with the Taliban group and preparation to conduct suicide bombing. Enditem
