Cambodian PM appeals people to temporarily stop eating seafood

Xinhua, April 2, 2016 Adjust font size:

Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen on Saturday appealed to residents and tourists in southwestern Kep province to temporarily stop eating seafood as algae has turned sea waters in the province green.

In his official Facebook page, the premier also urged people to stop playing sea waters in the province for a while in order to avoid negative impact on their health. His call was made after the Ministry of Environment announced earlier in the day that sea waters in the province have turned green in recent days due to the irregular growth of algae.

The ministry said the algae may have adverse impact on the health of humans and animals. Enditem
