Fernandez defends men's title, Jin Boyang writes history

Jin Boyang won the first individual world medal for a Chinese man at the world figure skating championships here on Friday.

Spaniard Javier Fernandez defended the title as he presented a flawless free skate to score 216.41 points and clinched the victory with a whopping 314.93 in total.

Jin, coming into the free skate in fifth, rode on the energic wave of Dragon Racing to present a difficult routine which earned him 181.13 to claim a bronze on 270.99.

Sochi Olympic champion Yuzuru Hanyu had to settle for the silver. Enditem
