Rockets lose to visiting Bulls 103-100

The Houston Rockets lost the NBA game against the visiting Chicago Bulls 103-100 at the Toyota Center on Thursday night.

This is the second consecutive victory for the Bulls, and this improves the team's chances of sneaking into the playoffs.

At the first half, the Rockets and the Bulls were evenly matched 52-52, and in the second half, the Rockets finished the third quarter 28-19, but lost the fourth quarter 20-32. Houston's Trevor Ariza missed a three-pointer at the buzzer and gave the visitors a crucial win to boost their playoffs hopes..

James Harden scored 24 points with eight assists, Patrick Beverley and Michael Beasley added 22 points and 20 points respectively.

For the Bulls, Nikola Mirotic scored a game high 28 points and his teammate Jimmy Butler added 21 points.

Currently, the Rockets' record fell to 37-39 while the the Bulls improved to 38-37.

In Cleveland, LeBron James scored 24 points to help the Cavaliers push aside Brooklyn Nets 107-87.

James now collected a total of 26,689 points in his career and moved past Dominique Wilkins into the 12th place on the NBA's all-time scoring list.

Kevin Love scored 19 points and pulled down 10 rebounds and Channing Frye came off the bench to contribute 13 points for the Cavs, who lost to the Nets in Brooklyn last week.

The Cavaliers moved 2 1/2 games ahead of the Toronto Raptors atop the Eastern Conference, inching closer to securing home court advantage in the East.

In other games, Indiana Pacers lost to visiting Orlando Magic 114-94. The Oklahoma City Thunder edged past the Los Angeles Clippers 119-117. The New Orleans Pelicans got past the the Denver Nuggets 101-95 and the Portland Trail Blazers extended their winning streak at home to a season-high six games with a 116-109 victory over the Boston Celtics.
