Death toll of Pakistan's Lahore blast rises to 76

Death toll of suicide blast that hit a public park in Pakistan's eastern city of Lahore has risen to 76 as two more injured died at a hospital, local media reported.

According to the reports, the killed include 29 kids and a large number of women, while over 300 others were also injured in the bloody bombing which ripped through the crowded Gulshan-i-Iqbal park on Sunday.

The brutal attack, claimed by a fraction of Pakistani Taliban, has drawn strong condemnation from home and abroad.

International community, including China, the United States, Russia, India, Turkey and Canada, strongly condemned the attack and sent condolences to Pakistan and prayed for the early recovery of the injured people.

Pakistani President Mamnoon Hussain and Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif condemned the attack and vowed to continue the fight against terrorism till its logical end.

Following the attack, Prime Minister Sharif cancelled his trip to Washington where he was scheduled to attend the Nuclear Security Summit this week.

At least 11 terrorists have been killed and over 700 suspects arrested in an extensive operation launched by security forces and police across Pakistan following Sunday's deadly suicide strike.

The suicide blast is the most serious one since the brutal terrorist massacre at the Army Public School in Pakistan's northwest metropolitan of Peshawar on Dec. 16, 2014 by the Pakistani Taliban in which at least 150 people including 140 students and 10 staff members were killed and 114 others injured.
