Germany's benchmark DAX index closes down

The benchmark DAX index at Frankfurt Stock Exchange on Thursday dropped and closed below 10,000 points.

The remarks made by Fed President Janet Yellen have driven down U.S. dollar and the rise of euro will affect the export of Germany, according to local analysts. The DAX index lost 81.1 points and closed at 9,965.51 points.

Deutsche Lufthansa climbed by 1 percent. Fresenius, a health care company, advanced by 0.41 percent. Thyssenkrupp rose by 0.36 percent. Deutsche Boerse went up by 0.33 percent.

On the other hand, the utilities company E.ON declined by 2.69 percent. Deutsche Post lost 2.3 percent. Linde, an industrial gas company, slipped by 2.18 percent. Henkel, which operates in three business areas including laundry and home care, beauty care and adhesive technologies, shrank by 2.05 percent. BMW plunged by 1.72 percent.

Daimler was the most traded share of the day with a turnover of 326.16 million euros (around 368.96 million U.S. dollars). Enditem
