Tokyo shares end slightly higher by break amid cautions

Tokyo shares ended the morning session slightly higher on Thursday amid cautions ahead of the release of key U.S. and Japanese economic data.

The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average inched up 11.08 points, or 0.07 percent, from Wednesday to 16,890.04.

The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange slightly edged up 0.06 points, or 0.00 percent, to 1,356.35. Enditem
